So as you may remember, Mother abandoned me for Valentines day this month. She trundled off to London, and I was sent to the farm.
It’s an well known saying in Britain, ‘the dog/cat has gone to stay on a farm’. It’s something they tell children when the dog/cat has died/been euthanised. So when ever Mother refers to Auntie Charlottes farm, as just ‘the farm’ everyone jokes about them never seeing me again.
I’m annoying apparently, so I regularly get threatened with ‘the farm’ but obviously Mother loves me too much to actually follow through. But, whenever she tells someone I’m off to ‘the farm’, it probably does cross their mind to wonder.
I stayed at home on Tuesday morning while Mother went to work. I played with the dogs on the playing field in the morning before she left me to my own devices (I just napped, I always just nap whenever Mother leaves me home alone). Auntie Charlotte came to collect me about 11am, and then I had 48hours of fun on the farm with her two labradors and the farm collie.
Auntie Charlotte text Mother on Valentines Day asking what she’d done to me, because Auntie thought I was a different dog from the last time she had me. She said I was being very well behaved and barely barking!
Mother was very happy that I was much better. I’ll be staying with Auntie Charlotte on the farm for two weeks while Mother goes to Disney World in Florida in a month or so. Mother has been worrying that Auntie Charlotte will change her mind if I’m too troublesome, so she was very happy to hear I was better behaved.
I played with the labradors and found some new sticks to run around with. I had a lovely Valentines Day.
Auntie Charlotte took my back home Thursday afternoon, and an hour or so later Mother came back home. I gave her a waggy bum hello, and offered her a soft toy to play with me with, and it all went back to normal.
Having a few days on ‘the farm’ was so much fun. I think I’ll be fine when Mother goes on holiday. Here are some videos of me having all the fun!
Did you all have a good Valentines Day? Feel free so share in the comments. I challenge anyone to beat getting to rip up a feed bag, splashing in a stream and finding a BIG stick!!
